Welcome to my acoustic guitar page. While some guitars come & go in my collection, I will stick to my current favorites. My very humble & modest collection of acoustic guitars is divided into two basic worlds.... resophonic guitars & non resophonic guitars.
Keep in mind years ago there was no other form of sound amplification other than the size of the body -- or box -- on an acoustic guitar. The body size determined the amount of acoustical projection in any given venue performed, and in so doing, the designers of the "box" guitars created some masterpieces of sound for the live acoustical format, and today's luthiers are attempting to recreate those acoustical dimensions.
To appreciate blues in it's acoustic form there is, of course, as many artists, past and present, worthy of mention. Blues musicians of every stylistic persausion have used every guitar model, brand & body size in which to play the blues. They have flat picked, finger picked, slipped & slided... so there are no rules, just personal preferences. The best acoustic guitars that have ever been created in the history of the planet are being built here and now! We are experiencing a virtual renaissance in acoustic guitar making... it's never been better!
Muddy Waters once said the Blues is as timeless as the pulse of the universe. Acoustic blues is as old as dirt and electric blues is the new kid on the block. When the acoustic guitar mated up with it's first blues musician the world and blues changed forever. Just remember as we feast daily upon the energy of the contemporary electric blues, there is a quiet undercurrent of older and more ancient acoustic energy playing in a parallel universe somewhere.
I will be posting photos of a few of my acoustic guitars for all to see, so check back soon!
