Cole Stevens and The People of Interest
Incendiary forces can sometimes take on a new and positive form. Cole Stevens and The People of Interest is just such
an anomaly. The river town of Louisville KY is filled with blues bands that seem to tirelessly play and revive old and worn
out blues classics in the same old and worn out way... Cole Stevens and The People of Interest have consciously intended to
think and play outside the blues bun.
In the heart of their rootsy form... they established early on... to embrace essential primordial elements of what good
blues music has been based on. Those are: the groove and the attraction of a sustained vibe known as "feel good".
No other music genre on earth has the distinction of generating train loads of "feel good" vibe as a by product
from a process known as the human experience.
Cole Stevens (vocals, lap & slide guitars) and Michael Butler (guitar) have been working at creating an infectious
musical groove in bands and in the studio since 1980. As progenitors of their own original compositions Cole & Mike also
enjoy turning rarely heard covers uniquely into their own tunes.
With the musical union of long time Louisville-blues-scene veterans Mike Alger (drums) and Mike Williams (bass) a new
collaboration of blues muscle has quietly worked it's way into local and regional clubs, venues and festivals. Combining raw
delta vibe with sensible contemporary funky rhythms, Cole Stevens and The People of Interest is spreading the light on "feel
good" music. Be a part of what feels good... step into... and become a part of the groove as it was intended to be experienced.
